Do you think I'm pregnant?

I just sent Kurt to the store for Canada Dry Ginger Ale, Yoo-Hoo, and pickles. I'm not sure why, but I want them all right now. :) The only thing I craved when I was pregnant with Ava was gummy lifesavers. I had to have them all the time. I would leave work to go get another package. This time I've been craving pickles like crazy. I could eat them all day. The other day I ate a pickle with my peppermint hot chocolate. Yum! Tonight I had a pickle and then immediately ate a klondike bar. I think we're going to have to make a trip to Sam's to get one of those huge concession stand size jars of pickles. :) I know that has to be so healthy for the baby. it's amazing I haven't gained any weight yet. I have my next appointment the week after Christmas. I don't think that's fair. I'm sure I'll have put on a few pounds. Oh well...

I got to see the baby again today. He/she was so cute! It's amazing how much they change at this stage. We could see little arms and legs already and the baby was moving around like crazy. The baby kept rubbing it's face. So adorable! The heart rate was good and the baby was measuring right on track again. It was so nice to get some more reassurance before I can feel the baby move.

I keep telling myself I need to post more, but I've been sooooo tired. It's all I can do to take care of Ava all day. The good thing is that I haven't been nearly as sick as I was with Ava. I still have my moments, but I'm not throwing up all the time. I just can't wait to get my energy back. I absolutely love the second trimester on.

I'm sure you'll be hearing from us a little more since we'll have Christmas pictures to post. I need to post some pictures we had taken recently too. Maybe I'll get around to that tomorrow...

Guess What?!?

We're pregnant!! It's been so difficult not to post this, but I wanted to wait until after our first ultrasound to make sure everything is going well with the baby. We are expecting baby #2 in July!

We had our ultrasound today and the baby looks perfect. He/she (I don't want to call the baby "it") was measuring right on track and had a heart rate of 132bpm. We are so excited the baby seems to be doing well! I am seven weeks pregnant and the tiredness/nausea are definitely hitting me right now. At least I'm over half way through the first trimester!

Here is the first picture of baby #2:

Ava is sleeping again!

Sleep has been scarce around our house since Ava got sick, but last night she slept through the night again! Thank goodness!! Mommy needed the sleep. I felt like I had a newborn again for a few days. I think she is starting to feel better because she actually ate some oatmeal and an apple for breakfast this morning. That's more than she's had all week.

It's only 8:30 in the morning and we've already been outside to play with bubbles twice. She is still fascinated with bubbles. It's so cute now that she can actually run after them and try to pop them.

Well, I better go. She is being a little too quiet in her playroom. That's never good. :)

Poor Baby!

Well, I was right about the virus! I took Ava to the doctor this afternoon and her tongue and the back of her throat are covered in blisters. The doctor said the blisters are very painful and that is definitely the source of her fever. He said young kids often tell you their ears hurt when they have this because throat pain transfers to the ears and they can't tell the difference. Unfortunately, it is just a virus and the only thing we can give her is motrin. I just wish there was more I could do for her. I hope she is able to sleep and it isn't another long night!

I Voted Today!

Ava and I just got back from voting, and I was so excited that it only took us about 5 minutes. I was terrified of waiting in line for 2 hours with a toddler! I wanted to take a picture of Ava "voting" for the first time, but I wasn't sure that was allowed. :)

I love election day. I hate all the political stuff leading up to it, but the actual day is so exciting! I'm actually a little nervous to see how this is all going to turn out. Hopefully, we have a clear winner tonight!!

I hope you are all planning to vote today!!

Now on to Ava...she is still sick! We had a terrible night last night and she woke up screaming every couple of hours. So, we have an appointment this afternoon. I'm sure they will tell me it is just a virus (like always), but I'll feel better once I know. I'll let y'all know what the doctor says later today. Wow, I may actually post twice in one day! However, I'm not sure anyone even reads my blog anymore...

Sick Baby

Our poor little baby is sick! She has been so pitiful today. She woke up with a fever of 103 and then vomited in the car. She has just been laying around all day which is quite a change for an active 21 month old! This is how she spent most of the day...

If she wasn't laying on the couch, she was sitting in her chair with a blanket over her legs. I'm not sure when she turned into an old lady! :) We hope she is feeling much better tomorrow. I did love all the extra hugs and kisses today. It's nice when they want to sit in your lap and snuggle again.

Happy Halloween

Ava has a blast last night trick or treating. At first she wasn't too sure about all of it, but then she realized they were handing out candy! She had a great time with her cousins Caleb and Levi. Ava went as a giraffe, Caleb was Batman, and Levi was Robin. They were all adorable. Here are a few pictures from last night.

Ava getting her Halloween basket from Gigi and Pops

This is when she wasn't quite sure what we were making her do

Then we met up with Caleb and Levi and the fun began

Ava and Caleb would hold hands walking from house to house

Ava and Levi got tired and decided it was more fun to ride in the wagon

Then, Mommy gave in and Ava got her first lollipop. She was sticky after that!!

Just for comparison, this was Ava and Caleb last year on Halloween

Pumpkin Patch

This weekend we took Ava to the pumpkin patch. Last year she loved it and we got some great pictures! This year, not so much...

Once again, Ava refused to smile for any pictures and wouldn't even look at the camera. All she wanted to do was pick up pumpkins and pull her wagon around.

What are we going to do about this child's hair???

We'll have to try again to get some good fall pictures of Ava. We bought a few pumpkins while we were there, so we may have to try again at home.

Catching Up (Again)

I am always way behind on posting pictures even though I have good intentions. This will be another "catching up" post.

Ava went to the zoo twice in one week recently, but she had a blast. Kurt and I took her on a Saturday and then I went with a group of girls from church during the week. Ava has decided that she will no longer smile for pictures, so most of these are of her not smiling or the back of her. Oh well, I'm sure she'll decide it's fun to smile for the camera again at some point.

This is Ava and Daddy at the zoo

This is what Ava has started doing in the morning. She'll get up, eat breakfast, and then watch tv in our room while Kurt gets ready for work.

Now she wants to know why I am interrupting cartoons to take pictures of her.

This is also a new favorite activity. I'm not sure why she is only wearing her diaper...

This one is a little video of Ava sitting in her babydoll stroller. She has since broken the stroller!

The second trip to the zoo. Notice almost every picture is from behind! She is such a stinker!!

Such a big girl walking on her own!

Ava and her new friends

So much fun!

Time to go again!

She looks so excited to have her picture taken with me, right?

This past weekend, we also took Ava to her first Aggie football game. She did great! She stayed up in the stands the whole game. Of course, she spent the majority of the game in Boompa's lap.

Kurt carrying Ava to the stadium in the Beco.

I think Ava was commenting on a play.
